Full Tilt Poker quietly acquires FullTilt.com domain (July 16, 2008)
Full Tilt Poker has finally gained control of the FullTilt.com domain. Visitors to www.FullTilt.com
are now redirected to the online poker company's website, www.FullTiltPoker.com.
The FullTilt.com domain
went on sale last November. The owner, a product information management company called FullTilt Solutions,
said that it was receiving 60,000 unique visitors per month looking for the online poker site.
"At first we thought that the extra traffic was fun, but now the traffic has grown to a point of distraction and is utilizing resources that should be reserved for our customers and prospects" said Timothy Wallace, CEO of FullTilt Solutions.
Details of the transaction have not been made public, but an agent for the previous owner expected
the domain to fetch "in the seven figure range" due to the heavy traffic. Records show the domain
registration was updated on May 26. The domain is now registered to gaming law attorney Ian Imrich
in Los Angeles, California, but is hosted on a server in the Channel Islands along with other Full Tilt Poker domains.
This is the seond high-profile domain acquisition in recent weeks. Just prior to the start of the
World Series of Poker, Harrahs apparently resolved its
long-running dispute with a cybersquatter and acquired control of the WSOP.com domain.
