| The gtech (or bossmedia, or lottomatica, or whatever they are calling this week) poker platform is the skin chosen by the lottery authorities in my jurisdiction (province of Quebec, Canada) for the poker part of their online gaming venture. The poker platform was likely picked because it was part of the deal for the real money-maker, the online casino games (for which gtech is a major international supplier).
Everyone pretty much knows the bossmedia poker story by now - dated, drab graphics, bland avatars, capricious software, no microstakes HU matches, etc. One of the big problems with this outdated mess is, unlike say Stars or Tilt, which install everything on the user's local computer to minimize data download, with boss the graphics are sent down from the server every time a game starts up because there is little that is resident locally. Ridiculous.
Also, the lobby is really a web browser in disguise, so everything has to be downloaded to there, too. There are a couple of boxes for ads and notices in the lobby, but sometimes the images don't load and you are left looking at the corner of a standard web browser 404 error page. This stuff is just plain obsolete.
It may just be me, but as one of the better players on my site I get the definite feeling that the site is juicing the game to the benefit of my fishy opponents. Some of the repeated suckouts are almost mathematically impossible, and I happen to know how to calclate the probabilities. I personally have major concerns about the integrity of the site.
I simply don't trust gtech. They have a squalid history of corruption and unethical business practices. Don't take my word for it, just google various combinations of "gtech" along with terms such as "bribery", "prison", "fired", "White House", "suicide", "scandal", "rigged", "Brazil" (don't miss that one), "DOJ", "SEC", and "sleaze", and see what you come up with.
Bossmedia? gtech? Whatever. No thanks. Never again.

| Software: well its old pacific so lost in time a bit.
Traffic: mediocre if you wanna play cash game you will find a game(no heads up cash) if your not to picky, tournaments well not a lot of people so it feel more like a sit go, sit go well you have to wait long time for full table(10man, few minutes for shorthanded and minute or two for heads up.
Bonus: typicall req. for first deposit(bet at home 100%up 1kEur, pokerheaven 200% up to 1kEur).
Freerolls: play up to 1.5k people for 100Eur every day, then you have first deposit version, loyality once a week ( both give you tickets for €25,000 Weekly GTD)
Promotions: typicall like on other shared sites (rake race, sit go master, 3 billionth hand bonanza, bad beat jackpot and like on other sides you have FPP)
Deposit and withdrawal: Standard wide variety(Skrill,Visa, Neteller, Mastercard,Bank transfer,..)
Server: well its a little bit rusty sometimes (for 10 sec nothing happens and you think my internet is down but then business as usual, back to normal pace which is not super fast)
Support: dont know i will see when will need full service from them | |
