Title:Be very caution with this network, your money is not secure there. 67 out of 85 readers found this review helpful

Before Feb 2008 I was a very happy customer of the Microgaming network playing with the Battlefield Poker skin. This all changed when one day without warning my account along with thousands of other accounts were frozen at the same time because the payment processor for 28 skins was shut down and put into liquidation.

At first we thought our money would be returned to us asap because microgaming had honoured players balances before.... but weeks went by and eventually the microgaming press releases stopped flowing and we were all left to fend for ourselves. Now our money is in limbo and is being sorted out by an Australian liquidator. We have been left out to dry by this network and I feel betrayed. I highly doubt that I will ever see a dime of my money of which I trusted to the network ever again. I really hope that's not the case and microgaming honours our balances and pays our money back for trusting them in the first place.

In the meantime, take my story as a precautionary tale and stay away from this network until this whole mess is sorted out. Your money is not safe with a microgaming skin, you have been warned.

Title:Microgaming is a dangerous place to keep you money.... 42 out of 57 readers found this review helpful

Microgaming is a dangerous place to keep you money. I had thousands of dollars in a micro gaming site, and one day my money just vanished and my poker room shut down, along with a lot of other poker rooms on the micro gaming network. If that doesn't make you want to stay away from any microgaming poker site, you are an idiot.

Microgaming kicked 28 poker rooms off it's network in Feb. of 2008 (this year). That is a large number. No players from the affected sites have been able to access their money, and are currently considered creditors in a liquidation of the parent company that owned the 28 poker rooms. So what happened the day after the players on the 28 sites suddenly lost their entire account balances? Nothing. Business as usual for the Microgaming network.

Me: hello microgaming I was playing your poker network that you say is "safe and secure" on your website, and now I am locked out of my account and I have no access to my thousands of dollars I had in my poker account
Microgaming: Go talk to the liquidators, we can't help you.

Microgaming is a loose collection of many different poker sites, and while they say they are safe and secure there is really no way to know unless you research the individual poker room you play on. Even then, they are all small, so there is the risk that if enough sites failed the whole network could go under.

I would recommend playing on a more reputable network with a positive track record like poker stars, where money is held in Trust, or one of the bigger Euro sites.
