| Title: | Finally quit! | 118 out of 147 readers found this review helpful | |

| This review is for online poker as a whole and not a specific site. Ive been playing online poker since 2005 and like most players Ive had my ups n downs. When I first started playing, over the course of 2-3 years, I was making a tidy profit, nothing too special, but enough to take my family on holidays, buy things for the home etc etc. However, over the last 2 years or so, something has DEFINATELY changed. No,It's not the fact more ppl are playing the game, nor the fact that more ppl are wising up to how to play and have useful tools i.e pt or hem. The software program has changed without a shadow of a doubt. A trend always appeared. A period of time running at EV or slightly above will almost certainly be accompanied by a period ( whether it be a day or a few days),where u cannot do anything right, where your all-ins that are massively dominating your opponents hand get cracked by whatever it takes to crack it. 'Shills' will say its just standard variance. Not a f---ing chance is that standard variance! Ive been playing long enough to know with my own two eyes that it isnt 'standard variance'! If you look on the debate on 2+2 about Online poker being rigged, you'll find the same names cropping up defending online poker as if it were their familys they were defending. 'Riggies' as they like to call us cant prove online poker is rigged, that is correct, we cant. But what is the only way they can prove it isnt rigged? Oh yes Hand Histories, the be all and end all. Because of Hand Histories, it cant be rigged can it, it cant be manipulated can it! Give me a break. Anyway, last month, after 7 years of playing the game I loved most, I finally decided you know what, enough is enough. I was wasting my life on a game I knew I had no control over. I self-excluded from the 3 sites I was playing on. At first it was hard but a few weeks down the line, I feel like Ive been reborn. Im more happier than I have been for a while, more energetic, spending more quality time with my family and on the whole Im feeling more healthier. Every person is to themselves, but my advice is dont waste your time playing online poker, it consumes too much of your life and you get very little reward if any at all! All the best | |

| PokerStars should be complemented for such a clever scam. They really don't care who loses. They ARE THE ONLY winner on their site. The software will consistently take away the advantage of playing decent poker. Bottom line better players have a reduced edge. So the money stays in play where it is raked over and over. Over pairs will lose to under pairs about 43 percent of the time instead of 20 percent. Poket Kings will lose to Ace rag about 56 percent of the time instead of 29 percent.
Huge draws with 12 to 21 outs will hit less than half of what they should yet gut shots are golden... This is a perfect way to keep the money in play... the better players have no edge and the money stays where pokerstars wants it, in play...
Just run your own stats, I suggest you play extremely small stakes to reduce your loss and track your hands...if you are playing tight Watch out for the set-up hands; ie : if you flop two pair or better from a forced blind...you are most likely going to lose... Be smart cash out if you can, and if you have not made a deposit, DON't
You will just be lining the pokets of organized crimminals.
