Big overlay looms in €1 million guaranteed on IPN

Players on the International Poker Network, aka Boss Media, are in for a treat today.
With time running out for registration, the
network's first-ever €1 million guaranteed tournament is facing a substantial player shortfall which may see
the prize pool greatly enhanced at the network's expense.
With only two hours remaining, just over €500,000 has been paid into the prize pool of the
€1000 + €50 buy-in event. The network will have to kick in whatever is needed, likely hundreds of
thousands, to bring the prize pool up to the €1 million guarantee.
Prior to today, the network's largest guaranteed tournament was a €250,000 event earlier this year,
which easily met its guarantee. Network executives may now be regretting their ambition in
quadrupling the guarantee for this event, but today's final tablists stand to benefit enormously
from the overlay.
