After a string of worrying tweets made over roughly 24 hours, legendary poker player Tom Dwan is reportedly safe at the Park Royal Center for Mental Health in Middlesex, England.
According to PokerNews Managing Editor Will Shillibier, Dwan is not in any danger and exactly where he needs to be.
In his string of tweets, Dwan had referenced both the UK and US government and repeatedly said that he felt his life was in danger. He also said that he needed to have his friends by his side multiple times.
While Dwan tweeted that British police officers broke his ribs and may have punctured his lungs, Shillibier claimed that Dwan was in fine physical condition.
“I spoke to him for about 15-20 minutes. He spoke to me at length about what he believes he’s gone through,” said Shillibier. “I can assure you that he is looking well. He appeared physically unharmed.”
Many poker players, including Rob Yong, offered their assistance and well wishes. Fortunately, Dwan seems to have taken a turn for the best.
A little less than three hours after his last tweet, Dwan apologized for the rant and said he’s “feeling a bit better.”
