Report: 2026 WSOP Schedule Set for Imminent Release

The highly anticipated World Series of Poker summer schedule will drop tomorrow, a GGPoker social media post hinted.

The WSOP schedule is generally revealed in January or February, so the timeline is right on schedule for the 2026 edition. GGPoker stoked poker fans’ interest with the simple post:

This year’s WSOP will likely feature at least 100 events with a large variety of game types and buy-in levels. The exact events for the 2026 WSOP haven’t been announced, but we already know the entire series will run from Tuesday, May 26, through Wednesday, July 15. It will return to the Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas venues.

Full Schedule Release or Partial?

The WSOP may not release the entire schedule tomorrow. In some years, the WSOP initially released only a partial schedule of select events.

Noted poker personality and sometime WSOP media czar Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers was quick to post on X that he didn’t know if this was one of those times or not.

Regardless, it’s a given the $10,000 main event will return, as well as a plethora of different games.

It’s also expected that there will be a large number of online events on both WSOP.com and GGPoker. The latter series typically runs in the fall, though. GGPoker bought the WSOP in 2024.

The WSOP does always tends to add a new event or two. Last year, the series held a $100,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha super high roller event for the first time. It was a smashing success with 121 entries, so it remains to be seen if that particular event returns for another go.

Interestingly, Kalshi has already begun taking wagers on a variety of WSOP factors, such as Main Event attendance.

Will 2026 WSOP Break the 100-Event Barrier for the First Time?

One big question on poker players’ minds is whether the WSOP will expand beyond 100 events for the first time this year.

The number of WSOP events has steadily climbed over the last 10 years. Last year marked the first time the series reached 100 events (30 online events run in parallel to the series). Including WSOP Europe and WSOP Paradise festivals, that number reached almost 200 (193).

Some poker pros have criticized the number of events, claiming they dilute the prestige of winning a bracelet. Phil Hellmuth has said he’d like to see a cap of 100 bracelets per year (no matter where they take place).

The inflation has certainly become real. If you run the math, the number of WSOP events during the summer series is up 44.93% since 2016 (from 69 to 100).

At any rate, it will be interesting to see what the WSOP has in store for this year. There’s a good chance GGPoker will post the 2026 schedule on X tomorrow with the full schedule set to appear on the WSOP website.
