New Jersey was one of the first wave of US states to legalize online poker, along with Delaware and Nevada. The first sites went live in 2013. Thanks to the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, poker sites in New Jersey can network with those in Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Nevada, and Delaware.
It’s also home to Atlantic City, one of the top U.S. gambling destinations outside Las Vegas. Of the nine retail casinos in the city, the Borgata is the best-known for its live poker offerings, although Harrah’s is also a popular spot.
