The full schedule for World Series of Poker Paradise in the Bahamas was released on Thursday afternoon, confirming the slate of events this December at Atlantis Paradise Island. It’s a short but dense affair, with 15 events in just under two weeks. That includes some Triton Super High Roller Series tournaments and the $60 million guaranteed Super Main Event.

GGPoker chief ambassador Daniel Negreanu handled the promotional piece of the schedule release, focusing on that huge Super Main Event guarantee as the centerpiece of his promotion.

The $60 million guarantee surpasses the $50 million guarantee from a year ago, at the time the largest guarantee in live poker tournament history. This year’s edition will break that record again.

WSOP Paradise Highlights

Out of the full schedule of 15 events, a few stand out.

  • Event #1: $2,500 Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty NLH — The lowest buy-in of the series and a new event this year. The key feature of this event will be the prevalence of players from WSOP Circuit qualification via the new $5K Ticket to Paradise promo for those who win Circuit rings from July 2 onward. The promo gives the players a travel package of $2,500 and entry into this event.
  • Event #3: $100,000 Triton Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event — A high-roller six-figure buy-in event that features PLO in the Triton Poker Series. Last year’s Paradise series had a $100,000 super high roller PLO event, but it was not a Triton event.
  • Event #5: $250,000 Triton Invitational — A new event that is the largest buy-in of the series. The invitational signifies a field split between top pros and recreational players with a taste for high-stakes action. Pros who wish to play must secure an invite.
  • Event #6: $5,000 Super Colossus — This event lets WSOP Paradise mimic the concept of the WSOP Colossus, just with inflated buy-in to reflect with the overall higher roller format of Paradise.
  • Event #11: $25,000 Super Main Event — The aforementioned $60 million guarantee event that will look to surpass the numbers from last year’s Super Main Event, which got 1,978 entries.

Reaction To The Schedule

There were a few notable reactions to the full schedule from players. Joey Ingram chimed in with his appreciation for the Triton PLO Main Event:

nice to give PLO the respect it deserves and it’s own big main event

also like the poker stake incentive for circuit winners who go down there for the 2.5k and try to sell for the 25k – expenses are going to add up though

Others, like 12-time WSOP circuit ring winner Mike Setera, were not impressed with the new Ticket to Paradise promo:

It does make the ring winners’ package more bizarre, as most circuit grinders are not gonna play anywhere near this high.

The age-old question of dealer quality will dog the WSOP again. Paradise tournaments will produce more manageable fields than the behemoth ones of the summer WSOP. But Scotty Bonz still broached the topic in a reply to the WSOP announcement.

Has @WSOP done anything to increase the abilities of their dealers? Thank you for your time.
