Jonas Kronwitter claimed the 2026 PokerGO Tour PLO Series title after finishing first on the leaderboard across the eight-event schedule. The Austrian recorded two victories and five cashes for 598 points and $576,088 in earnings, according to PokerNews.
A strong start before the trophies
The series brought a field of high-level Pot-Limit Omaha players to the PokerGO Studio. Kronwitter arrived with PLO pedigree and came close to winning the opening tournament, the Event #1: $5,300 PLO, finishing runner-up to Sam Soverel for $79,625.
He added a ninth-place finish in Event #2: $5,300 PLO and another ninth in Event #4: $10,500 PLO Quattro Bounty. Those early results laid the groundwork for a run that gathered pace in the second half of the festival; his results added more evidence of the depth in today’s high-stakes four-card fields, where specialists such as Daniel Negreanu have also put up major PLO performances.
Two wins deliver the series lead
Kronwitter’s first title came in Event #5: $10,500 PLO, where he defeated Richard Gryko heads-up to collect $201,600. Gryko took $126,000 for second, while Jiyang Gan finished third for $88,200.
Two events later, Kronwitter won again in Event #7: $15,700 PLO. He and Joni Jouhkimainen made a heads-up deal before Kronwitter secured the title and a listed payout of $267,563; Jouhkimainen received $215,062. The asterisks in the results reflect that deal.
Kronwitter reached heads-up three times over the series, winning twice and cashing five times. That consistency, alongside the two titles, put him comfortably atop the standings and made his 598-point total the benchmark for the rest of the field.
Soverel and Garcia among the other winners
Soverel opened the series by beating Kronwitter heads-up in a 91-entry field in Event #1, earning $122,850 from the $455,000 prize pool. He later won Event #6: $15,700 PLO Mystery Bounty for $250,000, comprising $160,000 in regular prize money and $90,000 in bounties. That victory extended his record to 17 PGT titles; he finished second in the series standings with 376 points and $282,850 in PGT earnings.
Cesar Garcia won the $26,000 PLO Championship, the series finale, for $420,000 from a 48-entry field and finished third on the leaderboard. Garcia’s win capped a notable series finale, as detailed in Cesar Garcia’s PGT title coverage.
Robert Chorlian and Roussos Koliakoudakis also took titles, while James Chen won Event #4: $10,500 PLO Quattro Bounty for $239,000, including $132,000 in bounties. Kronwitter’s two wins, five cashes and points lead made him the standout of the eight-event series-and, as PokerNews put it, one of the names to watch whenever four cards are in play.
