On Sunday, the 2025 World Series of Poker Online on GGPoker set a record for most concurrent online poker players.
GGPoker’s social media team first announced the milestone on X when it passed the 500,000-player mark. However, less than an hour later, the account posted an update saying there were now 600,000 players at one time.

The 2025 WSOP Online is currently at the halfway point, having started on Aug. 17 and continuing until Sept. 30. The very popular $1,500 Millionaire Maker, the 17th event of the series, was the leading cause of the massive number of players converging on Sunday.
Day 2 of the Millionaire Maker is Monday. Sunday was the last chance for players to jump in on the Day 1 flights that took place over the course of a whole week. Sunday also played host to Event #16: $215 Beat the Pros Bounty.
There are 33 events in total in the 2025 WSOP Online. The crown jewel event of the series, the $5,000 WSOP Online Main Event, has its Day 2 on Sept. 22 after 18 Day 1 flights.
GGPoker WSOP Numbers Far Surpass Prior Marks
The more than 600,000 in a single day smashed other comparable numbers from GGPoker’s rivals and poker history in general. During the pre-Black Friday era when online poker was at its peak, PokerStars had 307,000 concurrent players in 2009. More recently, GGPoker also had more than 316,000 online in one day this September.
Traffic data from PokerScout commonly shows more than 100,000 players online at a time on GGPoker. But the 600,000 was a huge increase that blew every other number to this point out of the water.
Another number to keep an eye on is the record for the all-time largest online poker prize pool. Currently, that mark is just past $29 million for last year’s WSOP Online Main Event on GGPoker.
Based on the numbers so far in the Millionaire Maker, there is a good chance that last year’s mark could fall, especially with the 18 starting flights (last year’s event had 17). The massive surge of players on Sunday show that players are very eager to jump in on GGPoker’s action during the bracelet chase.
