CoinPoker Pro Mario Mosbock Chops Heads-Up for $3 Million in Triton Super High Roller

The largest event of Triton Poker Jeju, $150K Super High Roller, generated a massive prize pool of $17.1 million and ended with Mario Mosbock agreeing to a heads-up chop with Kayhan Mokri, who ultimately won the match.

Both men took home more than $3 million as a result of the deal.

Nosebleed-Stakes Triton Event Draws Huge Field

Triton Poker Jeju $150K Super High Roller drew an impressive 114 entries (including 43 re-entries), the highest in the series. The resulting prize pool was more than triple the next-biggest in the series so far and will likely hold that record until the main event.

Mosbock, the CoinPoker ambassador from Austria, entered the final table as a shorter stack. He was seventh out of the final nine players with 21 big blinds. Meanwhile, Mokri, a Norwegian pro, started with 62 big blinds, 20 more than his closest competitor.

Seven different countries were represented at the final table, with two players from both China and the U.S.A. The two Chinese players, Wang Ye and Yu Zhang, ended up going out in third and fourth place, respectively.

Mokri held the chip lead against Mosbock going into heads-up play. The two Europeans agreed to a deal to chop the money more evenly. Mokri then won the heads-up battle to get the trophy and $3,835,059. Mosbock settled for the $3,067,941 second-place prize.

The big result was much-needed for Mosbock as he has cashed in just two of his last 15 Triton events between Jeju and Montenegro. Earlier this year in Jeju, back in March, the Austrian former pro soccer player won his third Triton title for $1.8 million.

Mokri earned his second career Triton title. He won his first in November 2024 in Monte Carlo. He also broke a long cashing drought in Triton events, having gone 14 events without one since that title 10 months ago.

Mokri is also one of the players who has played ultra-high-stakes heads-up matches against Ossi “Monarch” Ketola, a Finnish entrepreneur known for his cult-like following and racist tweeting. Mokri beat Ketola for $2 million in a streamed heads-up battle.

The $15 Million Club

The Triton Super High Roller series has made massive buy-in events almost common in the poker world over the last few years. But even in its nosebleed stakes, events that garner a prize pool larger than $15 million are more rare. There have been 22 since the Triton series started to use USD currency and hold multiple events per year in 2022.

So far, only Bryn Kenney has won more than one of these $15 million-plus events.

Argentine battle rapper and PokerStars pro Alejandro Lococo holds the distinction of winning the largest Triton event. He took down the Triton Million event in the Bahamas last December for a grand prize of over $12 million.
