GGPoker Teams Up With High Stakes Triton Poker Series; Online Qualifiers in the Works

Two major poker operators announced they are teaming up on Monday. GGPoker has become an official partner of Triton Poker with sponsorship beginning with the upcoming Triton Poker Cyprus Special Edition, running April 2-7.

Triton runs some of the biggest poker events in the world with massive buy-ins and high roller cash games. As part of the deal, the two brands will collaborate on future live events.

“Since its inception, the Triton Series has strived to bring live poker to the next level,” GGPoker director of sponsorships and live events John Scanlon said in a news release.

“It’s not just about the size of the buy-ins or the big-name players, but the quality of production and level of engagement it receives from the poker community. This partnership is the perfect synergy between two brands aligned with a common goal to bring poker to the masses through premium product offerings.”

GG bringing online poker element to Triton

Triton attracts some of the game’s high rollers as well as well-heeled businessmen looking to play for big bucks. Players like Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey are regulars on the series, including jumping in streamed nosebleed stakes cash games.

Until now, Triton has mostly gone solo as a live series. GG now adds an online poker element to the mix as well. The company also gains another significant presence in the live poker realm.

GG is promising to offer exclusive online satellites on the platform to future events. That means average poker players could wind up playing against some of the game’s elite. This could bring a unique element to the partnership.

“We are thrilled to welcome GGPoker as our premier partner this season,” Triton CEO Andy Wong said.

“GGPoker brings a wealth of experience within the online gaming industry and is renowned for being at the forefront of developing innovative games and features. Significant live coverage has always been the cornerstone of our business, and this partnership will further enhance the thrills and spills our fans have come to enjoy at our exclusive events.”
