Grand Prix KO Summer Edition Hits the Track Beginning Next Week at PartyPoker, $2M Guaranteed

The race for some big online poker winnings is heating up at PartyPoker. The Grand Prix KO Summer Edition rolls into the platform from Aug. 11-29 with 14 events and almost $2 million in total guaranteed prize pools.

Buy-ins for the series range from $5.50 to $320. With eight events priced at $33 and under, the Grand Prix also promises to be a nice series for players with more moderate bankrolls.

All tournaments come in bounty format, a fun opportunity for some cash each time a player eliminates another player.  Each event features several starting flights with the top 15% of each Day 1 moving on to Day 2.

Those advancing to the second day of action will also receive at least a minimum cash. Players will find plenty of qualifying opportunities at lower price points as well.

PartyPoker Grand Prix main events

Two championship events highlight the Grand Prix KO. The $109 Main Event is the fifth tournament on the schedule and comes with a $500,000 guarantee.

The winter edition of this tournament saw almost 900 players cash for a share of more than $600,000. Argentina’s Augusto Hagen defeated Denmark’s Adam Jakobsen to secure a combined first-place prize of $51,356.

Running alongside that tournament is Event 6, the $11 Mini Main Event with a $100,000 guarantee. Both the Main Event and the Mini feature:

  • 12 levels of late registration
  • single re-entry
  • the same blind structure

The $109 version features an eight-minute clock while Mini Main Event blinds increase every seven minutes.

Other Grand Prix KO highlights

Beyond the main events, plenty of other action awaits online poker players. The Grand Prix KO kicks off with the $3.30 Mini Opener and the $33 Opener. Players in this Mini will fight it out for a share of a $15,000 guarantee. The larger $33 Opener comes with a $75,000 guarantee.

Other highlights of the festival include a $215 Six-Max Championship with $200,000 guaranteed. The $320 Seven-Max High Roller promises at least a $250,000 prize pool.

The popular Super 50 and Super 5 events are also back. These events offer buy-ins of $55 and $5 with guarantees of $150,000 and $30,000.

Satellites action starts at just one cent

As with most series, PartyPoker is working to get players of all bankrolls in the action. Players will find numerous satellites throughout the series.

Those start at just $0.01 with players who score in these centrolls advancing to higher stages in hopes of earning a tournament ticket. Party is also giving away Grand Prix KO Summer Edition tickets via the site’s social media channels as well. Here’s a look at the complete schedule.

New satellites for Super $530

PartyPoker recently launched new satellite options for the Super $530, a high-stakes PKO (progressive knockout) tournament running every Thursday and Sunday. Players will now find new centroll qualifiers for the events, allowing players of lower bankrolls to enter.

Those advancing to the final phase will find at least 10 seats up for grabs. Each final runs two hours before each Super $530 on Thursday and Sunday. There is no direct buy-in final phase. The only way to enter is via $11 buy-in Phase 2 satellites.

This means the Super $530 will feature some players who have only invested $11 for a shot at the $40,000 (Thursday) and $50,000 (Sunday) guaranteed prize pools.
