Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson was caught on camera involved in a fist fight over a game of poker. The video just recently surfaced, even though the incident occurred on May 27th. The scene begins at Jokerstars, a Houston social club that offers poker.

The video begins with Peterson and another man already in fisticuffs, so there is no indication as to how it started. The two mean spar from a distance for several seconds while another man tries to hold them apart. Eventually, the two square up fully and start throwing punches. Peterson misses, loses his balance and falls to his knees. Neither man lands any significant blows and the scuffle appears to resolve as a draw.

Peterson had this to say to TMZ afterwards:

“Me and the guy, we’re cool. We’ve known each other. It was literally like a brother situation. We agreed to disagree, we had our words, and we threw blows — and that was it. . . .I felt really bad,” Peterson added. “It’s a situation where I kind of regret it.”

Other Recent Poker and Gambling Fights

This fight harkens memories of a viral fight in a Vegas casino just a few weeks ago which got a lot of attention from the dramatic knockout in the poker room. It’s also not the first case of a celebrity getting involved in a fight as Tarek El Moussa did the same while playing craps.

Peterson has some small experience with poker as he has made two appearances on the Celebrity Poker Tour, finishing 6th in in one instance in November 2024 for $3,500, his only recorded poker cash on Hendon Mob.

Once a household name and widely considered one of the best running backs in the NFL during his prime, Peterson’s stardom waned in the later parts of his career thanks to allegations of domestic abuse and felony child abuse in 2014.
