Poker Masters Kicks Off in Las Vegas This Week With $1 Million Guaranteed Multi-Flight Event

PokerGO’s fall high-stakes series, Poker Masters, returns this week, with numbered events starting Sept. 19. The full schedule for Poker Masters is compact, featuring just 10 events, and ending with a $25,000 tournament.

Instead of trophies, rings, or bracelets, Poker Masters champions take home a purple jacket to symbolize their win.

Poker Masters: Full Schedule and Highlights

Poker Masters begins with a special multi-flight event, one which has an ambitious $1 million guarantee attached. That might not seem like a ton for a $5,000 buy-in, but Poker Masters has never had an event with more than 131 entries. The festival, typically the domain of high-stakes players, is trying to fill a different niche with this tournament.

Poker Masters #1 has two starting flights (Sept. 19 and 20), each playing into the money. Players who advance to Day 2 will play to a final table on Sept. 21, with said final table taking place Sept. 22.

All of the final tables will receive livestream coverage on PokerGO. Aside from Poker Masters #1, the rest of the tournaments are two-day events.

The other big highlight of the Poker Masters schedule is the $25,000 tournament to wrap it up. It’s not designated as an official main event, but it has the highest buy-in and slowest structure of the series. Last year’s $25,000 event, won by Ben Tollerene, produced the biggest prize pool of the series at $1.7 million.

To add some incentive for the players to grind out the whole series, PokerGO will award the top points earner a $25,000 “Passport,” which can be used to enter subsequent PokerGO-branded events. The winner also earns a commemorative purple jacket signifying their standing as series champion.

Poker Masters has evolved a bit over the years, coalescing into its current schedule of all No-Limit Hold’em starting in 2023. In past years, it featured a mix of formats, including Pot-Limit Omaha and 8-Game.

Poker Masters has also become a bit more affordable over the years. As recently as 2023, the buy-ins progressed from a minimum of $10,000 to a high of $50,000. The 2021 edition topped out at $100,000.
