The 2025 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event drew just 659 entries, as the event’s attendance continues to dwindle. Several players shared opinions that it’s time for the WSOPE to move out of Rozvadov, and the numbers only backed up that notion.
The 659 entries into the €10,350 Main Event were a drop of 109 from the 768 in the 2024 WSOPE Main Event. And that year experienced an even bigger drop from the 817 entries in 2023. The 2025 number was the lowest mark since 2019. The top prize of €1.14 million is the smallest of the WSOPE Main Event since 2015.
The steady decline in entry numbers contrasts with the trend in most other live poker tournament series, where numbers have been on the rise. Las Vegas rooms have been bringing in record revenue in recent years.

WSOPE Numbers Down Almost Across the Board
In other events throughout the series in Rozvadov, the numbers have also been low. Shaun Deeb won his eighth bracelet in one of the smallest WSOP bracelet event fields ever, with just 38 entries. In fact, Deeb himself reportedly accounted for three of those 38.
Another event in the series that saw a drop in 2024 was the €350 opener, with a decrease from 3,509 entries to 3,229. The large multi-flight event is typically an indicator of the health of this series. The 10% drop in numbers was a harbinger of things to come.
The €550 Colossus and the €1,350 Mini Main Event have been the only other two events of the 2025 WSOPE to draw more than 1,000 entries. Each one had almost the same number of entries as in the 2024 WSOPE.
While the overall numbers have been down in Czechia, there has been a rise in the Pot-Limit Omaha events from last year. The €2,000 PLO event had a significant jump from 229 entries to 406. The €5,000 PLO event also had a jump from 141 to 200.
The increase in PLO specific events shows the growing health of PLO in Europe, which contrasts with the burnt-out feeing that most players have about the location of WSOPE. Apparently, the four-card action is attractive enough to draw more players every year.
