Resorts World New York City opened the first floor of its commercial casino and revealed renderings that show a planned $5 billion expansion that will make it one of the largest integrated gaming resorts in the country and the largest table games casino in the world.
The first-floor expansion added 1,400 more slot machines, bringing the total to 3,900.
After an intense bidding process for casino license rights in the Big Apple, the Queens property became the only full-fledged casino in New York City. It then received unanimous committee approval for expansion in September 2025. Table games opened in April 2026 in what had been a Class II gaming operation.
Resorts World NYC has the market to itself until the other two approved casinos open. Since they’re being constructed from scratch, that will take several years.
When all is said and done, the full expansion will feature a 350,000-square-foot gaming floor with 6,000 slot machines and 800 live table games. The resort will also include 2,000 hotel rooms and 10 acres of green space. A 7,000-seat arena will be added for concerts and shows.
Resorts World NYC expects to finish the full expansion by 2030.

Resorts World NYC to Have Most Table Games in the World
When finished, the 350,000-square-foot expansion will rank the New York casino as the fifth largest in the world according to World Atlas.
WinStar World Casino Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma, is not only the largest casino in the world by size, but it also has the most slot machines, with 10,500. That is significantly more than what Resorts World NYC would boast at 6,000.
But where Resorts World New York will really stand out is in table games. The planned expansion to 800 table games is far more than other casino resorts. WinStar has just over 100 table games. The 800 number is a direct challenge to the Venetian Macau, which currently has the most table games in the world, also with 800.
Resorts World NYC will notably be larger than any casino in Las Vegas and also surpass the size of Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods in nearby Connecticut.
