The cash game hands keep getting bigger and bigger, with a new largest one ever seemingly happening almost weekly. Alan Keating is the common denominator in these big pots, including the previous largest one just a few weeks ago.
Peter Wang was Keating’s opponent in that previous hand and once again it was the same forces clashing, as Wang was the nemesis in this new largest pot. This time it was Wang who came out on top with a gutsy hero call for $1.95 million.

The pot of nearly 2 million began when Wang raised with J♥J♣ to $6,000 (from a $1,000 big blind) from under the gun. Keating came along from the cutoff with Q♠10♦. “Jack” shot it up to $26,000 as he looked down at the Q♥Q♦. Wang called with his jacks while Keating was willing to play with a wide poker range and see the flop with queen-ten off suit.
The flop came 4♠7♦6♦, missing everyone. Jack still had the best hand as he fired $35,000. Petter called with the jacks. Keating was undaunted by his two opponents and he raised to $180,000 with not a long going on in his hand. But both Jack and Wang called to swell the pot.
The 2♠ turn didn’t help anyone as the board remained blank for each player. Everyone slowed down by checking it to the river as it came the A♦. Jack’s pair of queens remained the best hand, while Keating still had nothing.
The pot had $621,000 in it at this point and Keating was set to make his stand for it. He moved all in for $663,000 after the other two players checked. The winning hand of pocket queens hit the muck as Jack tossed them after two and a half minutes.
Wang was now in the spotlight with the weaker jacks. He took three full minutes before putting in the call. Keating pointed to Wang as if to say you got it and Wang tabled the winner after the big hero call for the $1.95 million pot.
It was the first time in a while that Keating has lost one of these humungous pots as he has had the propensity to win these type of hands of late, including a 2025 hand of the year candidate.
Peter Wang finished the night up $700,000, finishing second to “Texas Mike” Moncek, who bagged up a profit of $1.5 million.
