Shiina Okamoto continued her dominance of ladies events around the world as she won the European Poker Tour Barcelona €550 No-Limit Hold’em Ladies over the weekend.
The Japanese poker player, whom GTO Wizard recently signed as an ambassador, beat the 126-entry field for the €15,510 first-place prize. She entered the final day as the chip leader and overcame an otherwise all-European final table. Ultimately, Okamoto defeated two French women who came in second and third.
This victory adds yet another big women’s event result for Okamoto. She has had several deep runs in them, collecting result after result. This win comes shortly after her third-place finish in the Women’s Summer Festival in London in early August. The biggest win came this summer when she won her second World Series of Poker bracelet, going back-to-back in WSOP ladies events. She also has a third-place finish in an EPT Monte Carlo ladies event this May.
Okamoto celebrated her first EPT “spadie” trophy by posting about it on X. She also said it was one of her favorite events:

Her post got a lot of traction on X, gathering close to 100 comments of congratulations, most coming from Japanese fans.
Okamoto Adds EPT Success To Asia, U.S. Results
While women’s events have produced around half of her poker career winnings, Okamoto has also experienced success in open events on multiple continents. She cashed in the well-attended PokerStars Open during the early part of the series.
Most of her career results come from Asia and the U.S., but she also enjoys playing in some EPT events. She has made trips to Spain and Monte Carlo over the past few years and continues to add to her results with each stop.
Of her three titles this year, one occurred in an open-field event in the Taiwan Millions series. That win counts in the GPI rankings, which exclude limited fields like women’s events. Those ranking parameters ironically keep her GPI numbers lower than one might expect based purely on her results. She remains as the No. 15 woman in the world according to the GPI.
Overall in 2025, Okamoto has 19 recorded cashes for more than $315,000, according to the Card Player archives. Four of those cashes have come in women’s event fields and have accounted for more than half of her winnings for the year.
