The alleged Eagle Pass Casino shooter, Keryan Rashad Jones, was indicted on several charges after a September shooting that left two people dead. Jones is accused of having killed two people and injured five others after firing twelve shots at Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, TX on September 28.
The 34-year-old from San Antonio will now face the following charges:
- Murder, capital murder, and capital murder of multiple persons
- Assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
- Exhibiting a deadly weapon while committing an assault
The two deceased victims were identified as Marcus Antley and Alicia Sanchez back when the shooting occurred.
Authorities were able to identify Jones as the suspect after the shooting thanks to surveillance footage.
Jones is still being held in jail and is due back in court on January 7th. His bail is set at $5.1 million.
The shooting was yet another incident in the state of Texas, which has become somewhat of a dangerous place for poker in recent years. A variety of incidents throughout the state have called into question the safety of card games in the Lone Star State.
The Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino is located just a few miles from the US and Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas. It has a small poker room with 12 cash game tables and a low-stakes weekly tournament.
