Planet Hollywood opened its poker room on Friday, ending a four-year poker drought at the Las Vegas strip casino. The new poker room is 4,800 square feet and has 23 poker tables, 12 of which are for cash games and 11 for tournament play. An attractive balcony overlooks the tables, providing an interesting outlook for a poker room.

This marked the return of poker to Planet Hollywood after the previous poker room was closed about four years ago. Planet Hollywood was a popular tournament poker location for players with “The Goliath” series and was one of the stops on the rotation for many players. But after its closure, the casino has drifted away from the poker world.

Planet Hollywood looks to change that with this new poker room, intending to bring poker back in a big way. There is plenty of competition for Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip. It is not the only new poker room on the strip, as Caesars Palace will also open a new one.

But the new poker room hopes to benefit from its proximity to the Horseshoe and Paris, which will be hosting the 2025 WSOP over a nearly two-month span in the summer.

The newly opened room will also aim to host WSOP Circuit events in the coming circuit season. The room’s managers hope this will attract more tournament players and make it a regular option for players once again, as it was before its closure.

There is also some momentum for the new room to host mixed games, which will be attractive for players who know how to play Omaha poker. There will be a mixed games series to celebrate the grand re-opening of the new poker room.
