PokerStars’ “Big Game on Tour” will return for the second half of its second season at the end of September with five brand new episodes of high-stakes play.
The new episodes will feature even more thrilling action, new players, and a fresh loose cannon, PokerStars announced. They’ll air every Sunday from Sept. 28 to Oct. 26.
Furthermore, the second half of the season will see the stakes increased even more, with a minimum buy-in of $100,000.
Lex Veldhuis and Alan Keating return and will face off against each other yet again, while PokerStars Ambassador Jason Koon is set to make his Big Game debut.
Comedian Morgan Jay and popular content creator Alexander “Wolfgang Poker” Seibt will also take part. They will be joined by Luke Moy, the new loose cannon for the next five episodes.
Luke Moy is the New Loose Cannon
“The Big Game on Tour’s” hook is the idea of top professionals playing against an everyday recreational player for high stakes. The so-called “loose cannon” gets a stake from the operator but can only keep anything they win.
Moy, a pub manager from the U.K., impressed enough to be chosen for “The Big Game.” Despite winning his Gold Pass a year ago, rather than cash it in straight away, he spent time working hard on his game getting ready to face the professionals.
Hopefully, he will fare better than the loose cannon from the first part of Season 2.
Previously on ‘Big Game on Tour’
Jordan Handrich was the loose cannon during the first part of Season 2. The lawyer received a $50,000 stake to play a 150-hand $100/$200/$200 ante No-Limit Hold’em cash game against pros and celebrities. Opponents included Jennifer Tilly, Gerard Pique, and Sam Grafton.
Handrich lost around $8,000 following a modest start, but she gained momentum with a well-timed bluff against Griffin Benger shortly after.
One of the most exciting moments came midway though the season. Handrich held pocket Jacks against Andre Akkari’s pocket Queens.
She five-bet, got re-raised all in, and agreed to run it four times. Handrich failed to hit any of her outs and was eliminated after losing her entire stake.
With bigger stakes and therefore bigger pots in the upcoming episodes, the new loose cannon could stand to win a staggering amount, should things go well.
