Popular social media influencer and model Suede Brooks made headlines in the poker world on Friday when she won the Celebrity Poker Tour’s Game Night VI.

She defeated a table of ten celebrities to win the $10,000 grand prize and book her spot for a return visit to the Celebrity Poker Tour (CPT) on May 10th in the PokerGO studio in Las Vegas. The 24-year-old has a large social media following, with 1.7 million followers on Instagram and 1.2 million on TikTok. She shared her poker victory with her 1.7 million followers with a post on Instagram, which received over 10,000 likes.

The Friday lineup consisted of five women and five men. It got some notoriety from the mainstream thanks to Hailey Welch’s “Hawk Tuah” appearance. After months of being out of the limelight, this was her first time in the public eye. Welch would finish fifth out of the ten competitors.

Many celebrities who played on Friday have a beginner’s concept of how to play Texas Hold’em. Interestingly, the player with the most poker chops entering the night was the first to exit. Alex Botez, who is primarily a chess player and influencer, has dipped her hand into poker many times in recent years and is an ambassador for GGPoker. All that experience did not help her much as she finished in tenth place.

The final two players were Brooks and former Major League Baseball player Jose Canseco. Canseco is not the only baseball player who has had a brush with poker, as Max Scherzer discussed the big poker games he used to play.

Brooks took advantage of some spots, including some bluffs, to defeat Canseco and take home the sit-and-go title.

Brooks is the seventh woman to win a CPT title out of the 11 total events. Some other notable women to have taken down a title in this event include poker pro Maria Ho, who has won twice, Princess Love, and Lena Ayad.
