Italy is one of the European countries most heavily engaged in poker. Unfortunately, its online poker laws keep its players cut off from the rest of the world. In principle, it could link up with France, Spain, and Portugal’s shared-liquidity market, but the political will seems not to be there. Still, even as a ring-fenced market, it does quite well.

PokerStars has recently rekindled its interest in Italian live poker, partnering with the Italy Series of Poker eight years after discontinuing its Italian Poker Tour.
