The World Poker Tour (WPT) has released the complete schedule for its upcoming WPT World Championships at the Wynn. The theme for this year’s series appears to be more mixed games than ever, with roughly half the schedule dedicated to games other than No-Limit Hold’em.

The winter series in Las Vegas will be held over three weeks, from December 2 to 22. It is the premier winter series for the WPT and is held at the Wynn. It has become a staple of winter poker over the last few years, as 2025 will be the fourth annual version of the event.

The WPT announced the schedule with a video on X.

The series will feature 78 events (including satellites) with buy-ins that ranging from $600 to $25,800. One of the key features of this year’s schedule is the increased mixed game slate. There are also a number of different bounty events on offer, including Progressive Knockouts and Mystery Bounties.

Mixed Games on Tap

Disregarding satellites, the schedule is roughly half No-Limit Hold’em, one-quarter Pot-Limit Omaha, and one-quarter other formats. In total, 23 Omaha or mixed game events are spread throughout the course of the schedule, with at least one on almost every day.

These include:

  • Eleven PLO events, four of which are the five-card version. That Includes PLO Mystery Bounty and turbo events.
  • Four TORSE events
  • Two HORSE events
  • Four Limit Omaha 8 events, one of which is combined event with Stud 8.
  • One Big O event
  • One Triple Draw mix

Key NLH Events

  • $800 Opening Event, Dec. 2-6. $1 million GTD. Six opening days with one being a turbo flight.
  • $1,100 WPT Prime Championship. Dec. 7-12. $5 million GTD. Four opening days
  • $1,600 PLO Mystery Bounty. Dec. 7-8.
  • $1,100 Ladies Championship. Dec. 13-14.
  • $10,000 Seniors High Roller. Dec. 20-22

The centerpiece event of the series is the $10,400 WPT World Championship from Dec. 13-19. The event will have three starting days and last for nearly a week before crowning the champion.

In 2024, the WPT World Championship had 2,392 entries. Scott Stewart won the grand prize for over $2.5 million.

Competition with WSOP Paradise

The WPT World Championships at the Wynn is again set to compete directly with WSOP Paradise in The Bahamas, which released its schedule in August. This will be the third year of WSOP Paradise as it came into existence one year later than the WPT’s December Wynn series.

While some players will attempt to play both series, for the most part, players will have to decide which series to compete in. The vast majority of each schedule overlaps with one another. There has been a little bit of bad blood between the two rival poker brands with these two conflicting series over the last couple of years. That rivalry is likely to continue as the calendar gets closer to the December poker extravaganza.
