EPT London Returns in October with Two PokerStars Platinum Passes Awarded, Online Qualifiers

London’s European Poker Tour stop returns after an eight-year absence. PokerStars announced Thursday that EPT London is set for Oct. 18-28 to the Hilton Park Lane with a deep schedule and two Platinum Passes up for grabs.

The £5,300 Main Event runs Oct. 22-28 and players can earn a seat by playing online. PokerStars is offering full tournament packages for qualifier winners. Those events start for as little as £1.10 and run from Aug. 14 to Oct. 20.

“We’re thrilled to be heading back to London and looking forward to welcoming players from all around the world to the UK,” PokerStars head of global live event operations Cedric Billot said in a news release. “EPT London has a great history with PokerStars as it was a stop on the first EPT season in 2004.

“With a wide schedule of events, two Platinum Passes to win, and many activities around the event, EPT London 2022 is set to attract a huge number of players, from recreational right up to high rollers.”

The Hippodrome serves as PokerStars’s partner for the series and the casino will also host cash games during the series.  Beyond the Main Event several other tournaments are also schedules.

The series will also host a United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Main Event from Oct. 18-22 with a £1,100 buy-in. The £10,300 EPT High Roller is also scheduled for Oct. 26-28 and should see a nice field.

Players with even bigger bankrolls may want to check out the £50,000 Super High Roller, running Oct. 21-23. Hippodrome officials are pleased to the EPT action returning to London.

“We’re very excited EPT is returning to London and for the Hippodrome to be playing a central part in what is certain to be a key future event in the annual poker calendar,” Hippodrome director of poker Kerryjane Craigie said.

“We’re gearing up for an amazing 11 days of poker and honored once again to be partnering with PokerStars. We will have more cash games available than ever before with 40 tables, and with special offers for all poker players this will be a memorable tournament for all.”

Platinum Pass are a part of the action

PokerStars has promised two Platinum Passes on the line as part of the action in London. Each pass is worth more than $30,000 and includes the $25,000 buy-in to the PokerStars Players Championship (PPC).

That event is scheduled for 2023 at the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. A Platinum Pass also includes six nights’ hotel accommodation for the winner and a guest as well as airport transfers, PSPC merchandise, $1,900 toward expenses, and exclusive winner experiences during the event.

In London, the first pass is up for grabs in the £3,000 Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty, running Oct. 24-26. Stars is adding the highly sought-after pass to the prize pool, hidden in one of the bounty envelopes awarded to those who knock out another player.

The second pass is on the line in an all-in shootout tournament on Oct. 22. All online qualifiers for UKIPT London and EPT London are eligible to participate in this live tournament. The Platinum Pass goes to the winner.

The company also recently announced additional Platinum Pass opportunities via tournaments around the world. Stars will release the complete London series in the coming weeks, but here is a look at key events announced so far.
