Most of the poker world’s attention is currently fixed on the 2025 WSOP, which just kicked off this week, but that doesn’t mean there can’t still be some big action on the cash game stream streets.
Hustler Casino Live in Los Angeles, which hosted a Million Dollar Cash Game last month, streamed a WPT Global-sponsored $25/$50 game on Tuesday night. The story of the night was a hero call gone wrong for a pot worth nearly $150,000.
WTF?!? WHAT IS THIS HAND?!? 😱

The notable hand began with a flurry of action, as multiple players became involved to create a pot of $18,450 just through pre-flop action.
There were four players in the hand on a flop of K♣9♣3♦. Doc Hollywood had 4♠4♦, Victor had J♥10♠, Luda had 8♠7♦ and Jack had J♦6♦. Jack fired $10,000, which only Doc Hollywood called as the other two folded.
The 10♥ gave Jack a little bit of equity with a gutshot. But Doc made the unexpected move of shoving all in with just a small pocket pair for $55,050. At this point, Jack had very low poker hand probabilities of winning this hand, but it was unclear what Doc’s intent was with the all-in, considering his holding was also ranked very low on any standard poker hands cheat sheet.
After a while, Jack surprised everyone by calling to make a pot worth $146,450. The river came the 5♠ before either player revealed their hand.
Post-Hand Confusion
When the cards were turned over, some awkwardness ensued. Doc assumed his pair of fours would be no good and said “You win”. Jack mucked thinking he was going to win the pit without showing, but Doc changed his mind and said he won and tabled his hand.
Doc explained that he did meant “You win” assuming he was beat but when Jack mucked he knew Jack was admitting he was beaten. Some of the live chat accused Doc of an angle which the announcer quickly disagreed with, saying that Doc’s “you win” declaration was “the most understandable in poker history”.
This hand was just another in a long line of crazy hands in HCL history, just like one earlier this year when three different players flopped a straight.
Thanks to the jack-high hero call gone wrong, Doc ended up as the biggest winner at the end of the session with a profit of $127,700.
