Jake Cody won the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) Championship for $510,850 as part of a three-way deal. He dominated the final table, going wire to wire to capture the title and get his first six-figure result since 2014.
Cody told reporters that he only plays tournaments he finds convenient, following years on the grind all over the globe.
If I’m somewhere on holiday and there’s a big tournament there that’s not too far I will go out for that. But I don’t grind that tournament scene anymore.
2025 SHRPO Championship Details
The championship tournament held in Hollywood, Fla., at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino attracted 889 entries for the $5,300 buy-in. The prize pool swelled to more than $4.3 million.
This tournament made headlines when an individual played an entire hand with three cards on livestream during day 1B of the event.
Cody entered the final table as the chip leader and held that lead throughout the entire day down to three-handed. Then, he and his remaining opponents, Jeremy Wien and Stephen Song, made a deal with Cody declared the winner.
Song, meanwhile got his second six-figure score in less than a month as he won $109,000 for a runner-up finish in a Seminole Hard Rock tournament in Tampa at the end of July.

Cody, who is a pro poker player from Rochdale, England, now has more than $4.7 million in career earnings according to the Card Player archives. Most of those came from the earlier parts of his career, especially a stretch from 2010-2014.
The SHRPO triumph marks his first six-figure cash since he won about $215,000 at 2014 EPT London.
The 37-year old has transitioned to being a cash game player primarily while posting sparse tournament results in recent years. But 2025 has seen a resurgence for him in tournament results after very few in 2023 and 2024 and none before that since 2019. This result is his second win at Seminole Hard Rock this year. He took down an event in April for $93,900 which was his first tournament win since 2018.
