Tom Dwan is threatening to sue UK police and London’s Park Royal hospital over how he was treated in their care. Furthermore, Dwan is threatening to file a lawsuit against PokerNews because of their initial report stating that Dwan was in good physical condition at the hospital.

Dwan had a public episode on X in early May that left many in the poker world confused and questioning his well-being.

Now, a few weeks later, after the dust had supposedly settled, Dwan is threatening lawsuits against the London psychiatric hospital. The long-time high-stakes poker legend, who knows how to play poker cash games better than most, claimed to have had his rib and hand broken by UK police, as well as suffering a punctured lung.

This goes with the previous post on X, where he claims that his initial message about feeling better was coerced out of him.

Obviously the situation is still ongoing and there is likely a long ways to go to get more clear answers about what exactly transpired in London for Dwan. The question will be whether the authorities had the right to enact their power under the Mental Health Act, where they can detain an individual when it is deemed they are suffering from a mental disorder. It is meant to be for the person’s health or safety.

Dwan clearly believes he was wrongly detained and will be seeking retribution for that detention.
