The final episode of Season 14 of High Stakes Poker aired on Monday night to wrap up the 14-episode season.
As usual, there were many six and seven-figure hands, as players seemed willing to get the chips in with just one more chance to win big pots in the series until the new season in the fall.
One of the standout hands involved two of the more notable characters on the show. It featured Peter Wang who has been in several notable hanes lately across many poker streams. He was fresh off of his epic hero call against Alan Keating on Hustler Casino Live where he won a record $1.95 million pot.
It also featured Nik Airball, who made his long-awaited HCL return in early April and has been playing high-stakes cash games all over.
The hand started when “Kiki” limped with 9♥8♦. Airball raised to 10,000 with K♠9♠. Wang had a better suited spade hand withA♠J♠. He called, as did Kiki.
Th flop came J♥4♠7♣, everyone checked to see a turn of 7♠. Wang broke the stalemate as he bet $20,000. Kiki called with a gutshot straight draw and Airball also called with a king-high flush draw.
The river came the 6♠ to give both Wang and Airball a flush. Kiki chose a bad time to bluff at the pot as he fired $100,000. Airball called. Wang raised to 325,000 to shed Kiki quickly. Airball had to think about it for a while before he called. Airball saw his king-high flush crushed by the nut flush of Wang to send the $842,000 pot his way.
